NO INJURIES IN BARN FIRE NEAR MULDOON

  

Several pieces of equipment were destroyed in a barn fire early Monday morning near Muldoon.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 12:30 a.m. reporting a structure fire on Roy Road off FM 2237. 

The Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department responded along with sheriff’s deputies and found a pole barn fully engulfed.

Assistance was requested from the Flatonia Fire Department, who came to the scene along with EMS units.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with no injuries.  However, three riding lawn mowers, an Arctic Cat 4-wheeler and a Cushman riding cart were all destroyed, while another outbuilding suffered heat damage.

The fire is believed to have started from a heat lamp and extension cord.
