Brenham Main Street is bringing back two of last year’s favorite bands, while premiering two bands new to “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”.  The Dallas-based classic rock ‘n roll band Ashmore returns to the courthouse square on Saturday night, July 8th. Sponsored by Citizens State Bank, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Woodson Lumber, and Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing, Ashmore will rock downtown Brenham with guitar solos and 100% rock ‘n roll.

On Saturday night, July 15th, seven of the most talented musicians and singers in Texas will bring the Austin band Skyrocket to the square.  Skyrocket has one of the largest repertoires of any cover band around, playing songs from the 70’s and 80’s along with more recent hits.  Skyrocket makes their “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” debut sponsored by Brenham National Bank, Seidel Schroeder, Dahmann and Associates, and Must Be Heaven.

The Latin beat of Shekere, a talented seven-piece band of musicians and singers from Houston, will have the crowd dancing the salsa on Saturday, July 22nd.  Shekere is bringing their horn section to really liven up their mix of English and Latin pop hits.  They are sponsored by Briannas Fine Salad Dressings, Las Americas Latin Cuisine, Deep in the Heart Farms, and RCR Rail.

Closing out the “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concert series this summer on Saturday, July 29th will be the classic MTV tribute band out of Houston, “The Spicolis”.  This will be the third year in a row for the Spicoli’s to perform in Brenham featuring the hits of the 80’s.  They are sponsored by Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Brannon Industrial Group, Strand Associates, and Upchurch Yates Law Firm.

This will be the 19th season for the annual “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concert series, which draws nightly crowds in the thousands.  The Stray Katz Car Club will be back with a classic car show on the downtown Brenham streets, and the bands will take the stage on Alamo street by the courthouse at 7 o’clock on Saturday nights.  There is no charge to attend the concerts, and downtown stores and vendors will be selling food and drinks.
