The Navasota Animal Shelter is asking for the public’s help in alleviating their current overcrowding problem.

The shelter, which is located at 1607 Nolan Street in Navasota, is a small facility that has twenty cages.

Shelter Manager Stevie Widders said that they have been taking in animals that are hurt, sick, lost, or strays.

As a result of the influx of animals, they have been doubling up the amount of dogs in each cage, because there is not enough room for them.

During April, the Navasota Animal Shelter is holding a month long “Adoption Event.”  The cost for the adoptions is being lowered from $50 down to $35.

If you would like to adopt a pet, give them a call at 936-825-6641, or visit their website at www.navasotatx.gov/animal-control, and clicking “Adopt a Pet”.
