UNITY THEATRE’S ‘YANKEE TAVERN’ OPENS THURSDAY

  

The ideas of truth, fact and belief will take center stage in a drama that begins its two-weekend run tonight (Thursday) at Unity Theatre in Brenham.

“Yankee Tavern”, a Studio Series production on the Main Stage, plays Thursdays through Sundays starting this evening and continuing through April 2^nd.  The play features a young couple at a tavern who finds themselves caught up in a mind-bending conspiracy that sprang up in the wake of the September 11^th terrorist attacks. 

Director Ryan Schabach visited with KWHI’s Craig Montana on the Community Corner to discuss the production, saying it focuses on the agony of uncertainty and why people sometimes look for reasons not to believe what is in front of them.

Tonight’s preview performance will have a talk-back session with the cast and crew after the show.  Schabach will hold a director’s chat half an hour before the show on Saturday, April 1^st.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. 

Tickets for tonight’s preview performance are $19 and $25 for all regular performances.  Student tickets, along with any seats not sold 15 minutes before the show, are $15.
