  1. Here we go again!!! You feel the need to voice your opinion on things out of your control. Baseball is a game of failure! Instead of degrading the players and coaching staff how about post something like this….Trust the process and stay the course. We as a community have your back and we are proud of you! Like stated above, Brenham has one of the toughest districts in the state of Texas! We are the Baseball Capital of Texas for crying out loud!!! You are a spectator and the only thing you should be doing is cheering for these young men! Have you ever thought about the way they feel? They probably don’t read these comments on KWHI but if they did wouldn’t you want them to see the community has their back and that we believe in them? And as far as the coaches go…..they sacrifice their time, sanity and family to coach a sport and players they love! You think the coaches should change this or change that….I get it! But that is not your job! Your job is to support the players and coaches. Let’s show these players and coaches some support!! They put A LOT of hard work into this sport, school and community! Keep grinding Cubs! I believe in you and no matter what happens, HAVE FUN and play for each other! Ignore the negativity and continue to fight!

  2. A combination of poor defense, lack of timely hitting, and poor pitching. The coaches have put these kids in positions to succeed, but they aren’t the ones on the field charged with making the play. Errors, walks, and a weak approach to hitting is on the kids. And don’t baby them because they need to own the responsibility. Plenty of Seniors on the team to take a leadership role but haven’t seen it yet. It’s during times of adversity that you see a team’s character. Let’s see how they respond starting tomorrow night. As fans though, we must continue supporting these kids by showing up. These next two series can get the Cubs back to .500 ball in district play with a real fight left in the last three series against teams above them in the current standings. Time to make our move.
    WE ARE…BRENHAM!!!

  3. I’m not sure what games other fans have been watching but I haven’t noticed anyone being “comfortable”.

It’s sad that once teams hit a slump it’s all the coaches fault.
When they are winning there is nothing said.

I’m sure Heck, Joz, and Wheaton would be willing to meet with anyone that has concerns about their favorites or how comfortable they are.

The amount of experience these coaches have put together as well as their commitment and love for the game can not and should not be questioned because of a few losses.

I’m sure they know they have made mistakes but they choose to learn from them
And not dwell on what they could have or should have done.

Let’s stop posting comments if the commenter is not “as comfortable as the cubs” to put their real name.

  4. A few coaching decisions should have been different this season! Too comfortable and too many favorites!

    1. From someone who sees what they do in the school and what they do on the field (maybe a little more informed than “disappointed”) I’ve never seen a group of coaches pour as much energy or time into kids and the game as these guys do. I can promise you by watching the way they work, they are not comfortable.

It’s always so interesting to me, as someone who loves this community, how quick some people are to get on here an anonymously share their negative opinions. Maybe next time you feel the need to share your negative comments, share your name as well. There are plenty of people around here who would be happy to enLIGHTen you.

    2. a mad parent or a long time “Cub Fan” living in the past?

I can guarantee you no one feels more disappointed in loses than the people who pour a large part of their life into Cub baseball. (Aka not you)

If you want to be disappointed in someone/something, maybe direct that at UIL for aligning this wack district. Not another one like it in the state of Texas. Do your research and see what we’re up against. Simply look at the enrollment numbers. Then maybe take a look at individual player stats. Can promise you none of these guys started their learning or development as Freshman under high school coaches.

Understand, there’s no way one team from this district is going to dominate every year. It’s just facts.

Let’s root for our Cubs!! I know one thing for sure, they’re gunna fight. I, for one, have their back and will fight for & with them!

    3. Disappointed, we are having to start freshman on our varsity this year in the toughest district in the state. We are lucky to have this group of coaches in Brenham who put so much into these kids and community. I’m glad our kids have some great role models to look up to as their coaches. Let’s come together in Support instead of trying to tear down.
