MUMFORD WINS 1-0 PITCHERS DUEL OVER BURTON

The Mumford Mustangs won a 1-0 pitchers duel over the Burton Panthers on Tuesday.

The game's only run came in the bottom of the third inning when Chris Castilleja singled home JaCoryan Flores.

Mumford pitcher Damian Castorena allowed just three hits over five innings to the Panthers, all singles (two by Colby Beck and one by Vicente Veliz). Castilleja pitched the final two innings and retired all six batters that he faced.

Chet Fritsch pitched well, but took the tough luck loss. He went 5 2/3 innings allowing five hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. Kaiden Kalkhake came on in relief to get the final out.

The series now shifts to Burton this Friday night for a 6:30pm. It is also Little League Night. Players wearing their Little League jerseys are invited stand on the field with them during the National Anthem.
