CUBETTES BEAT LAKE BELTON 2-0 TO WIN THE BI-DISTRICT SERIES
After winning the second game of their bi-district series on Saturday, the question on everyone's mind was could the Brenham Cubette Softball Team rise up and do it again to the #9 ranked team in the state, Lake Belton? The answer was a resounding yes!
In front of a rowdy, high energy crowd, the Cubettes showed why nobody better underestimate them as they defeated the Lady Broncos 2-0 tonight (Monday), and won the series 2-1.
Della Jasinski delivered another big game performance. She pitched seven shutout innings, allowed only three hits, gave up eight walks (four were intentional), and struck out seven. The seventh strikeout was the biggest, because it sealed the series victory for the Cubettes in the top of the seventh inning.

The game was actually scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Sarah Mabie led it off with a solo home run to make it 1-0 Brenham. Later that inning, Kinley Antkowiak reached on a single, and stole second base. McKenzie Tiemann followed with an RBI single to right field that scored Antkowiak to make it 2-0. Those would be the only runs that Cubettes needed.
Tiemann had a big night with three hits including two singles, a double, and an RBI. The Cubettes also got a triple from Halle Scheel and a double from Annie Beckendorf.
Next up, Brenham moves on to face Pflugerville in the Area Round of the Playoffs. Game One is Thursday night at 6:30pm at Alumni Field in Brenham. Game Two is Friday night at 5pm in Pflugerville. Should a third game be needed, it would be 30 minutes after Game Two.
