AUSTIN COUNTY MAN GETS 60 YEARS IN PRISON

Damien Vachel Eveline (Austin Co. Jail)

A Sealy man with a lengthy criminal history was sentenced to 60 years in prison by an Austin County Jury.

Damien Eveline was arrested in June 2022 after the Westside Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a local motel.

According to the Sealy News, the warrant was obtained after Eveline sold drugs to undercover officers three times at the location.

When they served the warrant, Eveline saw the officers coming, and attempted to flush the evidence down the toilet.

Officers found traces of methamphetamines, along with a digital scale, and baggies in the motel room.

Prosecutors also presented to the court with Eveline’s lengthy criminal history that includes multiple drug offenses, a DWI, Assault Family Violence, and Aggravated Assault.

Eveline was charged with Tampering With Evidence.  The Sealy News said that the jury deliberated only an hour and 20 minutes before finding him guilty.

Eveline will not be eligible for parole until 2037.

  1. That’s excessive. That jury shouldn’t have even had the ability to sentence this man for any longer than 20 years, & even that’s extremely lengthy. Austin Co jury you just effectively gave him a life sentence. Just wrong, and shame on that jury.

  2. Sounds pretty harsh for selling drugs in a hotel. Even with his record. They give less time to rapists and murderers. Now the State will have to take care of this person for the next 14 to 60 years? Seems there should be another way.
