BRENHAM TEAM PLACES SECOND IN GUMBO COOK-OFF

A trio of local cooks came in second place at the 38th Annual Texas Crab Festival’s gumbo cook-off in Crystal Beach.

The Brenham trio consisting of Tony Grahmann, Mike Curry, and Tom Dooley, who call themselves “Bobo’s Gumbo Crew”, prepared a traditional seafood gumbo that impressed the judges.

The gumbo cook-off is a highly anticipated event in the city, with teams from all over the state coming together to showcase their skills, and compete for the top prize.

This year’s competition featured returning veteran teams vying for the coveted title of “Gumbo Champion.”

Despite not taking home the top prize, Bobo’s Gumbo Crew is proud of their second place finish, and say they plan to continue refining their gumbo recipe for next year’s competition with hopes of taking home the championship.
