WASHINGTON CO. MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING CHILD, DEPUTIES

  

A Washington County man is accused of assaulting a teenage girl and two Washington County Sheriff’s deputies.

The sheriff’s office was dispatched around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to a disturbance on Washington Bridge Road.

According to a release from Sheriff Otto Hanak, investigation indicated that 60-year-old Bobby Charles Ewing assaulted a 13-year-old female at the location. 

As deputies attempted to arrest Ewing, he reportedly resisted arrest, assaulted two deputies and fled on foot.  He was apprehended after a brief pursuit. 

Ewing was booked into the Washington County Jail on two counts of Assault of a Public Servant, Injury to a Child, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest and Assault.  He remains in jail pending arraignment.

Both deputies were evaluated at the scene by EMS and did not require further medical attention.  The release did not describe the extent of the teenager’s injuries.
