TERESA ROSALES PROMOTED AS BRENHAM’S ECONOMIC & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
The City of Brenham has named a new Economic and Community Development Director.
Teresa Rosales, who joined the city in January as an Economic Development Specialist, has been promoted to take on the lead role in economic advancements in Brenham and Washington County.
Rosales worked briefly under former Economic Development Director Susan Cates, who resigned from the city in April to pursue an opportunity in the private sector.
In a press release announcing the promotion, the city said Rosales “quickly earned the respect of elected officials, business leaders, and longstanding community members through her knowledge and professionalism.”
Rosales graduated from California Baptist University with Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees. Her experience includes real estate finance and sales, management of a business improvement district, and local government work concentrating on quality-of-life issues, economic development and utility communications.
In her position, Rosales will lead housing task force initiatives, work closely with Brenham’s development services department on implementing the city’s comprehensive plan, and serve as the liaison to the community services council sub-committee for non-profit funding.
City Manager Carolyn Miller said Rosales “will bring exceptional leadership and experience to this role.”
Rosales said she is “excited about the opportunity to get to know local stakeholders who are champions for Brenham and Washington County.” She said her goal is to research opportunities that ensure the city and county “maintain a healthy economy and outstanding quality of life.”
