BRYAN MAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON

Corey Smith (Brazos County Jail)

A Bryan man will be spending the next 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges in Brazos County District Court.

27-year-old Corey Smith was charged with Promotion of Prostitution and Compelling the Prostitution of a Person Younger than 18.

Bryan Police were contacted by the Frisco Police on November 19, 2020 in order to find a missing juvenile that was believed to be in Bryan or College Station.

The Bryan Police Direct Deployment Team located prostitution ads that confirmed the juvenile was in Brazos County.

The ads showed the juvenile and an unknown adult female.  The Direct Deployment Team use the ads to make contact with both females, and set up a meeting at a motel in College Station.

Prior to the meeting, the DDT Team, the Brazos County D.A.’s Office, Scotty’s House, and Unbound BCS, a local human trafficking advocacy group, coordinated a joint plan to assist in the recovery of the female juvenile.

When officers entered the room, they confirmed the identity of the missing youth, and Unbound BCS advocates stepped in to assist both women.

The Department of Family Services assisted in ensuring that the juvenile was safely returned to her family in Frisco.

Bryan Police were able to establish evidence that Smith was the one who recruited both women for prostitution.

In addition to his prison term, Smith also have will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
