LONGTIME ATTORNEY, FORMER BLINN TRUSTEE JOHNNY LACINA JR. DIES

A longtime Brenham attorney and former representative on the Blinn Board of Trustees has died.

Louis John “Johnny” Lacina, Jr. passed away on Saturday at the age of 73.

Lacina practiced law in Brenham beginning in 1972 and served as both the City of Brenham Attorney and Washington County Attorney.  He also served for nearly 18 years on the Blinn Board of Trustees.

A 1967 graduate of Brenham High School, Lacina attended Blinn College and Baylor University.  Upon graduating with business and law degrees, he practiced law with his uncle, A.W. Hodde, Jr., until Hodde’s retirement in 1994.  In 2003, he and Catherine Kenjura formed Lacina & Kenjura, LP. 

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with family present from 4 to 7 p.m., at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

  1. My condolences and prayers for the family. Johnny will definitely be missed in our Community that he gave back in so many ways. He was one of my sons Boy Scout leader and he was awesome. He was one of my customers with Ubeo and I appreciated his business over the years. Rest in Peace Johnny!

  2. Johnny was my attorney for 35 years and he was always there for me. He will be missed.
