TWO JUVENILES CHARGED IN ARMED ROBBERY IN NAVASOTA

Navasota police have charged two juveniles in an armed robbery that occurred last week.

According to a police department press release issued today (Tuesday), officers were called out on June 18th just after 2:45 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery in the 500 block of Cleveland Avenue.

The victim told police he was contacted by someone who was interested in an item he had placed for sale online.  The potential buyer requested the victim travel to Navasota.

The two met on Cleveland Avenue, and as the buyer was looking over the item, an armed, masked male approached them and demanded the item.  The victim reported that both the armed individual and the buyer fled the scene on foot.

Police identified the buyer and the masked individual as juveniles.  Investigators obtained confessions and recovered the stolen property.  They also located the firearm and discovered it was a BB gun designed to look like a real pistol.

Both juveniles were charged with Robbery, with one facing an additional charge of Tampering with Evidence.  Police said they have been released to their parents/guardians.
