AUSTIN COUNTY FUGITIVE APPREHENDED IN RICHMOND

A fugitive wanted on criminal charges in Austin County was arrested on Tuesday in Richmond.

28-Year-Old Jerome Anthony Jacobs was taken into custody by members of the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force.

Jacobs was wanted for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Fraudulent Use of Debit/Credit Cards for his alleged role in a crime that occurred on West Ueckert Road near FM 2502, close to Bleiblerville.

Jacobs was located inside an apartment in the 1700 block of Bissonnett by an Austin County Sheriff’s Deputy currently assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

He was taken into custody without incident. Members of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the operation.

During the arrest, Jacobs, who is a convicted felon, was found to be unlawfully in possession of firearms, and was charged in Fort Bend County for that offense as well.

He was transported and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail.
