VISIT BRENHAM LAUNCHES PERFORMANCES FROM LOCAL MUSICIANS AT ‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’
As downtown Brenham prepares for a packed month of summer concerts, a new slate of entertainment is getting ready to take the stage.
This year marks the first that local musicians will perform on the Alamo Alley stage each night of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”, before the concerts begin. The free performances, presented by the Visit Brenham Destination Marketing Organization, will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Leading off on July 8th is the Rob Moorman Band, presenting a blend of classic tunes from all genres from the 50s, 60s and 70s, as well as some original compositions.
On July 15th will be Jake Waylon, an American troubadour and accomplished writer and performer. His sound has been influenced by Neil Young, Billy Joe Shaver and John Prine.
Guests can look forward to the powerful vocals of Ryann Elise on July 22nd as she performs a variety of her own music and covers other hits.
Closing out the series on July 29th is Gary Durrenberger with sincere, soulful tunes to represent struggles and triumphs.
Adult beverages will be available for purchase. Air-conditioned restrooms will be open at The Barnhill Center.
In addition to playing before the start of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”, the local musicians are planned to perform an acoustic show at the main concert, during the band’s first intermission.
Kathrine Briscoe, Partner and Visitor Experience Manager for Visit Brenham, said the city is “a proud Texas Music Friendly community” that looks forward to “showcasing the amazing talent that we have in our own backyard.”
