MAJOR BOYS WIN, 11 YEAR OLD BOYS LOSE AT SECTIONALS
MAJOR BOYS TOURNAMENT IN BRYAN
The Washington County Major Boys made quick work of Bryan Harvey with a 12-0 win last (Monday) night that was called after three and half innings due to the mercy rule.
Cooper Plagens and Johnny Campbell combined for a no-hitter. Plagens pitched the first three innings allowing just two walks, and one batter to reach on an error, while striking out six. Campbell pitched the fourth inning retiring all three batters he faced.
Washington County got the scoring going in the bottom of the second with back-to-back hits by Grant Asmussen and Josh Torrez. Taylor Brier reached on an error to load the bases. Logan Grabarschick then cleaned off the bases with a three-run triple. Grabarschick would later score on a wild pitch, which put Washington County on top 4-0.
In the bottom of the third inning, Washington County burst the game wide open with eight runs. Easton Witt led it off with a single. Briley Jasinski followed with a double. Hank Majewski then slugged a two run triple that scored Witt and Jasinski to make it 6-0. Nolan Collier reached on an error that scored Majewski. Campbell followed with an RBI triple to bring home Collier to make it 8-0. Campbell would score on an RBI groundout by Asmussen. Torrez walked and later came home on an RBI single by Brier. Kai Ongudu walked, and then Grabarschick singled in Brier. Plagens walked to load the bases. Max Lambert drew a bases loaded walk that scored Ongudu to make it 12-0.
With the win, Washington County moves on to face Lufkin in a winner's bracket game on Wednesday night at 8pm. The game has been moved to Bachmann Park in College Station.
11-YEAR-OLD BOYS TOURNAMENT IN AUSTIN
It was a rough night for the Washington County 11-Year-Old Boys as they lost to Lufkin 5-4 last (Monday) night. Washington County will play either College Station or Northwest in an elimination game tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 7pm.
