BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS TRANSPARENCY, OPEN MEETINGS ACT

  

Transparency and the Texas Open Meetings Act are among the scheduled topics of discussion at Monday’s Brenham School Board meeting.

Previous meetings have had some members of the community come forward to ask for improved communication and dialogue between trustees and the public, particularly at the meetings themselves.  The board’s conversation is expected to cover how it can accomplish that and what all is allowable under the Open Meetings Act.  

A separate agenda item will bring talks on board operating procedures and the code of ethics. 

Following the discussion, trustees will hold a budget workshop.

Other business will include back-to-school information from the superintendent, comments and reports from trustees, a testing update and an executive session for consultation with an attorney and personnel matters.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
