NEW CHIEF DEPUTY IN LEE COUNTY

  
Vince McCoy (Lee Co. Sheriff's Office)

Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger has hired Vince McCoy as his Chief Deputy.

McCoy has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, which actually began with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in 1997.  He served as a deputy for the late Sheriff Joe Goodson.

McCoy will oversee the day-to-day operations for each of the departments at the Sheriff’s Office in Giddings. These include dispatch, jail, investigations, and patrol.

McCoy holds a Master Peace Officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. 

He also served six years with the Texas Attorney General’s Special Crime Unit. 

McCoy lives in Manheim with his wife Nicole, who is the Chief Deputy Clerk for Lee County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Michael York.

His son, Tyler, followed him into a career in law enforcement.  He is a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper that is assigned to Lee County.
