The honor, which was awarded for the 2022-23 school year, is presented annually to the top 10 percent of all Marine Corps programs worldwide.

Brenham’s Senior Marine Instructor, Captain Jeffrey Bayse, said this is “a rare and remarkable accomplishment for these young men and women.”  He said, “It is hard enough to earn this once, much less three times in a row.”

Criteria for selection includes cadet community service hours, drill and marksmanship competitions, JROTC and military academy selections, student leadership positions, and award presentations to the cadets from local military organizations.

During the last school year, the program recorded over 3,000 hours of community service, participated in more than 40 community events, hosted its ninth annual drill meet, and placed third at the national competition in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
