The Brenham Pet Adoption Center hopes to send lots of animals to new, loving homes during tomorrow’s (Saturday) Clear the Shelters event.

From noon to 4 p.m., the adoption center at 1804 Longwood Drive will offer free adoptions, free microchipping for personal pets, snow cones, a bounce house, appearances from the Brenham Police and Fire Departments, and giveaways.

Animal Services Manager Megan Gray said during Tuesday's Community Corner program on KWHI that the event is a great way to help alleviate overpopulation at the shelter and educate the public about what Brenham Animal Services offers.

According to Gray, there are roughly 60 dogs and 40 cats at the animal shelter.  All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before they are adopted.

For anyone who may wish to donate to the Brenham Pet Adoption Center, Gray said durable toys, towels and blankets are items that are always needed.

All of the pets available for adoption can be seen at www.petfinder.com

KTEX-106 will be broadcasting live tomorrow at the Brenham Pet Adoption Center during Clear the Shelters.
