MAN CHARGED AFTER FATAL GRIMES CO. SHOOTING SUNDAY

  

A Houston man is in custody after a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in Grimes County.

21-year-old Justin Alexander Sanchez is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault Against a Date, Family or Household Member with a Weapon.

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after midnight on Sunday, deputies were called out to the 6000 block of Clark Road near Plantersville.  According to the sheriff’s office, a group of family and friends were celebrating a birthday party when an argument escalated to a gun being drawn and two people being shot.

A 29-year-old male died at the scene, while a 21-year-old female was flown to St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan with life-threatening injuries.  Her condition was listed as stable.  The body of the male was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.  The identities of the victims have not been released.

Jail records show Sanchez is being held without bond.
