The Brenham GameChangers presented the program with a $10,000 donation for the new year.

SMART-CARE stands for Science, Math, Art, Reading and Technology – Cultural Academic Recreation and Enrichment.

Students participating in the program are tutored by teachers, college instructors, and corporations, churches and citizens who volunteer.  They also receive one-on-one mentoring from Blinn College student-athletes, including members of Blinn’s women’s basketball, women’s soccer and football teams.

The program is free and serves all children and families from the Early Childhood Learning Center to Brenham Junior High School.  Students are transported from school to the Faith Mission SMART House at 500 Botts Street on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Chris Cangelosi, a member of the Brenham GameChangers board, thanked Faith Mission on behalf of the GameChangers for the work it does and the assistance it provides for the students of Brenham ISD.
