WASHINGTON CO. FAIR JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION FRIDAY
Today (Friday) is the big day for hundreds of livestock exhibitors at the 155th Washington County Fair.
The junior livestock auction starts at 1 p.m. in Barn #1 at the Washington County Expo, with 260 lots participating. KWHI’s live broadcast of the auction begins at 12:45 p.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com.
Also happening today are the commercial halter heifer show and commercial steer award presentations at 8 a.m.
Today is Children’s Day and Veteran’s Day at the fair. Veterans will receive half-price admission at the gate with proper ID until 6 p.m. Other fair attractions will include the carnival, country creations, mutton bustin’, rodeo and wild steer saddling.
William Clark Green will open at 8 p.m. for Shane Smith and the Saints at 10 p.m.
A free shuttle bus will be available to take fair guests from the Brenham High School parking lot to the fair’s main entrance. The shuttle will run from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
KWHI will have live reports from the fair from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the broadcast of the auction after the noon newscast.
