NAVASOTA UP FOR TWO DOWNTOWN AWARDS

  

The City of Navasota and one of their businesses have been named as finalists for two of Texas Downtown’s President’s Awards.

The President’s Awards Program was started in 1986 to recognize outstanding projects, places, and people of Texas downtowns. 

The Rail & Rye Restaurant in Navasota has been nominated for Best Commercial Interior for an Under 50,000 Population.

The Best Commercial Interior category recognizes excellence in merchandising, customer orientation, and/or business functionality in an office or retail setting.

They will be competing against Buda and Ennis for the Award.

The City of Navasota was nominated for Best Promotion for an Under 50,000 Population.  The award is specifically for the Texas Birthday Bash Celebration.

The Best Promotion category recognizes excellence in creation and execution of downtown or commercial district promotions.

Types of events may include but are not limited to: retail promotions; festivals/events that celebrate and promote civic pride, community history and culture; holiday activities; social media and marketing campaigns; online performances, virtual events, and meet-ups.

Navasota joins other finalists: Ennis, Goliad, and Nacogdoches.

The winners will be announced during an awards gala at the Texas Downtown Conference in Nacogdoches on Wednesday, October 25, at 7pm.
