FATAL SHOOTING IN GRIMES CO. UNDER INVESTIGATION

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a man early Sunday morning in Plantersville.

According to the sheriff’s office, the shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. off Foxfire Drive.

The body of the victim, whose identity has not been released, was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.  The sheriff’s office says there is no believed threat to the community. 

A person of interest has been identified and is cooperating with law enforcement.  Evidence has been collected and witnesses have been interviewed.

Investigation is ongoing and is led by the sheriff’s office, Grimes County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers.  The Montgomery County Crime Scene Unit is assisting.
