BRENHAM HOSTING LAKE CREEK ON HALL OF HONOR NIGHT

The regular season comes to an end for the Brenham Cub Football Team this (Friday) evening as they prepare to host the Lake Creek Lions at Cub Stadium.

Brenham is 5-4 overall and 3-2 in district play. The Cubs are coming off of a disappointing 39-36 loss to Huntsville last week. They are going to be heading into the playoffs next week as the #4 seed.

Lake Creek had their bye week. They are 9-0 overall and 5-0 in district. They are #2 in the state in Class 5A Division II and have already clinched the District Championship.

For Brenham, Junior QB Jordan Harvey has completed 112 out of 170 passes (66%) for 1,692 yards, and 12 touchdowns to only five interceptions. He has also carried the ball 91 times for 306 yards and five touchdowns.

The Cubs' leading rusher, Freshman RB Jakoby Dixon, will be a game time decision. Dixon suffered an ankle injury during last week's game against Huntsville. So far on the season, he has carried the ball 104 times for 943 yards and 12 touchdowns. Dixon also has 25 catches for 449 yards, and five touchdowns.

If Dixon can't go, Senior RB Jaylen Ward will get the start. Ward has 79 carries for 491 yards and five touchdowns.

Chris Guidry leads the Brenham receiving corps with 23 catches for 610 yards and three touchdowns.

Head Coach Danny Youngs gave a scouting report on Lake Creek.

Lions QB Eli Morcos, despite missing time with injury, has completed 68 of 112 passes for 1,182 yards, 13 touchdowns to only one interception. He has also carried the ball 54 times for 497 times and nine touchdowns.

RB Tyvonn Byars, who just came back form injury, has carried the ball 95 times for 719 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Their leading receiver is Sam Lee, who has 24 catches for 528 yards and four touchdowns.

Last season, the game was played in Montgomery, and Lake Creek won a 54-42 shootout.

Kickoff is scheduled for tonight (Friday) at 7:30pm at Cub Stadium in Brenham. KWHI will broadcast the game live beginning at 7pm with the pregame on 1280AM, 101.7Fm, and KWHI.com.

It is also Hall of Honor Night. Former Cubs Jahn Finke, Dustin Moore, Wes Mangan, and Kyle Mangan are being inducted into the Hall at a luncheon today (Friday) at 11:30am at the Blinn College Student Center. They will later be recognized on the field prior to the game as well.
