BURTON AND WEIMAR TO MEET IN AREA ROUND FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR

The Burton Lady Panthers have made it to the Area Round of the playoffs and for their third straight year will face a familiar foe, the Weimar Lady Kats.

Burton is coming off of a three set sweep over Holland in Bi-District play this past Tuesday that improved their record to 30-17 on the season.

Weimar is coming off their own three set sweep over Refugio on Monday night.

In 2021, Weimar eliminated Burton in the Area Round with a three set sweep.

In 2022, Weimar defeated Burton all three times they faced each other, twice during the regular season, and once in the Area Round of the playoffs.

This year, Burton played Weimar back on August 25 in the Rice Consolidated Tournament and won the match 2-1.

Tonight's (Friday's) Area Round match gets underway at 5pm at Schulenburg High School. Dean Dillon will have the call of the action beginning with the pregame at 4:40pm on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.

The winner moves on to the Region Quarterfinals next week to face Thrall, who knocked off Shiner last (Thursday) night 3-1.
