LONG TIME LOCAL MINISTER PASSES AWAY

  
Rev. Jon Siemsglusz (Memorial Oaks Chapel)

Long-time local minister Jon Alvin Siemsglusz passed away on Sunday at the age of 86.

Siemsglusz was born in El Centro, California on August 27, 1937 to Alvin and Alvera Siemsglusz.

He was ordained into the ministry on June 24, 1962. 

During his ministerial career, Siemsglusz served as pastor for several churches including St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington, Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville, and St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill.

After retiring in 2008, he went on to be the pastor at Trinity Evangelical Church in Weimar.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his children, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with burial following in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery.
