CUBS AND CUBETTES EACH PICK UP WINS IN TOURNAMENT PLAY
The Brenham Cubs remain unbeaten on the season after picking up two more wins at the Cedar Creek Tournament in Bastrop on Thursday.
In the opener, the Cubs beat Killeen 72-55. Elijah Ferguson led the way with 17 points. Diego Estrada had 15 points after hitting 5 out of 6 from the 3-point line. Issac Powell finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
They would then go on to defeat Vista Ridge 64-60. Ferguson led the way again with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Powell had 16 points, Estrada added 12 points, and JaKobe Mathis finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Brenham is now 7-0 on the season . The Cedar Creek Tournament continues today (Friday) with the Cubs taking on IDEA Montopolis at 10:40am, and then they will face Round Rock Westwood at 1:20pm.
The tournament wraps up tomorrow (Saturday).
Meanwhile, the Brenham Cubettes picked up two wins on opening day of the Mike Dacus Classic in Navasota.
In the opener, the Cubettes stomped Lumberton 58-26. They then won a nailbiter 44-43 over La Porte.
Brenham is now 6-6 on the season. The tournament continues today with the Cubettes scheduled to play Aldine Davis at 1pm, and then Cleveland at 5:30pm.
The Mike Dacus Classic also wraps up tomorrow (Saturday).
