ANDERSON-SHIRO NAMES LONE FINALIST FOR SUPERINTENDENT
The Anderson-Shiro CISD Board of Trustees has named Dr. Sarah Borowicz as the lone finalist for their Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Borowicz has nearly two decades of experience in education as a classroom teacher in elementary, middle school, and high school campuses, as a Middle School Assistant Principal, an Elementary School Principal, an Intermediate School Principal, a Director of School Improvement, to her current position as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Elgin ISD.
Dr. Borowicz received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University, her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington, and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
She, along with her husband and two daughters, said they are excited to become a part of the Fighting Owl Family and join the Anderson-Shiro Community.
In a post on the school district’s Facebook page, Board President Kevin Smith Sr. said that Dr. Borowicz was chosen unanimously by the Board of Trustees as the Lone Finalist.
In compliance with state law, a 21-day waiting period went into effect December 2, and the board will then offer a contract to Dr. Borowicz to serve as Superintendent of Schools for Anderson-Shiro CISD, with an anticipated start date of December 23.
Borowicz takes over for Scott Beene, who retired from the district on September 30. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Carolyn Fiaschetti has been serving as the Interim Superintendent.
