FOOD FOR FAMILIES FOOD DRIVE WEDNESDAY

The 28th Annual KBTX Food for Families Food Drive is underway today (Wednesday).

Seven donation sites across the Brazos Valley are open throughout the day until 7 p.m. to accept non-perishable food and monetary contributions for the Brazos Valley Food Bank.  Among those are the Washington County Expo in Brenham.

Donations stay local to the county they are donated in; in Washington County, beneficiaries include Bread Partners of Washington County, Burton Bridge Ministry, Faith Mission and the Prairie Hill Food Pantry.

Items recommended for donation include cereal, canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, rice, ravioli, pasta, soups, canned meats, spaghetti sauce and tomato products.

Elsewhere around the area, drop-off sites are the MidSouth Electric Co-op operations facility in Navasota, St. Mary’s Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Caldwell, the Brazos Center in Bryan, Pridgeon Community Center in Franklin, SonShine Center in Madisonville and Hearne Railroad Depot in Hearne.

For more details, visit the Food for Families Food Drive Facebook page.

KWHI and KTEX-106 will have live reports from the food drive today, with Dean Dillon at MidSouth in Navasota this morning and Trail Boss Troy around lunchtime at the Expo in Brenham.
