GRIMES CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING DROWNING OF 2-YEAR-OLD BOY
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy after an apparent drowning on Sunday.
The sheriff’s office says deputies responded around 3 p.m. to the area of Knob Hill Road in south Grimes County for a report of a missing child.
After a search by deputies, firefighters and family members, the child was found unresponsive several hundred yards from their home, in a small drainage pond.
Personnel at the scene attempted to resuscitate the child prior to EMS arriving on scene and transporting him to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Navasota for emergency treatment. Despite their efforts, the toddler succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is pending.
Condolences to this family. You are in my prayers!
