BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD DISCUSSION ON PRIDE ACADEMY, RECEIVE MONTHLY UPDATES

Brenham ISD trustees will meet this (Monday) evening to discuss planned changes for the Pride Academy.

The district is seeking to relocate the accelerated learning program from the Community Education building to the high school campus.

Administrators say the change is intended to better serve students within the program while also absorbing some personnel costs.  However, some in the community have expressed concern about how it could affect at-risk students.

The agenda item is only for discussion, and no action is expected to be taken.

In other business at tonight’s meeting, the board will hear a presentation on campus attendance and a communication and community engagement update.  It will also go through the monthly financial, legislative and administrative reports.

In addition, the board will perform the annual investment policy review and possibly approve the district’s investment policy and strategies.

An executive session may be held for trustees to consult with an attorney and discuss personnel matters.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
