GAS PRICES UP FOR CHRISTMAS

  

Holiday travel has begun, and anyone hitting the road will likely have to face higher prices at the gas pump.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.69, up 14 cents from last week and up 8 cents from this time a year ago.

In Brenham, the average gas price is $2.72, with a low of $2.50 and a high of $3.20.

Surveying the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in Midland are spending the most on average per gallon at $2.92, while drivers in Victoria are paying the least at $2.55.

Across the country, the average price per gallon of fuel is $3.12, up 4 cents from a week ago and up 2 cents from last year.
