BRENHAM POLICE ARREST FIVE IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING INVESTIGATION; ADDITIONAL ARRESTS POSSIBLE

Several people have been arrested in connection with a pair of drive-by shootings earlier this month in Brenham.

The Brenham Police Department released additional details today (Wednesday) about an investigation that began on December 8th following a shots fired call around 4:35 p.m. at the Brenham Village Apartments.

During the investigation, police discovered that two juveniles and one adult were inside a black four-door passenger car and had fired multiple shots in the direction of a group of individuals, which also included juveniles and adults, on Parkview Street.

According to police, the group fired multiple shots back toward the vehicle, whose occupants returned fire toward the apartment buildings.  The vehicle then fled the scene.

Around 5:10 p.m., an additional drive-by shooting occurred in the 800 block of Independence Street.  Police located the vehicle from the initial drive-by shooting.  Investigators believe this second shooting was retaliatory.

The five suspects, which include three juveniles and two adults, were arrested for Deadly Conduct.  Police say the arrests were made between December 20th and 22nd.  Other individuals who are said to be involved in this incident have outstanding warrants for their arrest.  No injuries have been reported from either incident.

Authorities are not releasing the names of the adult suspects at this time, saying their investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are possible.

Anyone who has information about these incidents is asked to contact Detective Anderson with the Brenham Police Department at 979-337-7370.
