TXDOT TO BEGIN WASHINGTON COUNTY PROJECTS ON MONDAY

  

Drivers in Washington County are going to be experiencing some delays starting on Monday.

The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin work on a pair of projects.

One project will consist of adding and upgrading sidewalks along Business Highway 36 from FM 577 to Vulcan Street.

The $1.55 million sidewalk project, which is contracted to Ti-Zack Concrete Inc., is expected to be finished by the end of 2024.

TxDOT encourages drivers to keep safety at the forefront of their mind by paying attention to traffic control, work zone messaging, and the workers along the roadway. 

For the other project, they are constructing a restricted crossing U-Turn intersection on Highway 36 South between Anderson Lane and Pleasant Hill School Road.

The construction at this location is expected to take until the Fall of 2024 to complete.

Drivers in that area can expect lane closures and traffic shifts.  TxDOT encourages motorists to plan for extra travel time through the area or to seek alternate routes.

TxDOT is also going to construct another restricted crossing U-Turn at the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 1155 in Chappell Hill.

According to TxDOT, work on that project is not scheduled to start until the fall of 2024, and be completed by the summer of 2025.

The two U-Turn projects are contracted to Knife River Corporation for $6.5 million.
