TEXAS BLACKSMITH CONFERENCE, ANTIQUE GAS ENGINE REUNION JAN. 26-27 IN LA GRANGE
The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC) in La Grange is getting ready for the 4th Annual Texas Blacksmith Conference and Hume L. Baker Antique Gas Engine Reunion.
The events will be held Friday and Saturday, January 26th and 27th. Early exhibits and vendor setup will start at noon on Friday, with the main event beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The show will feature gas, steam, hot air, and oil engines operating and some powering equipment. There will also be blacksmithing demonstrations, along with vendors offering knives, tools and other pieces of interest. An iron smelt will be burning all day Saturday.
A live auction will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with special handmade blacksmith knives and tools, as well as other specialty items. Musical entertainment playing classic country throughout the day will be by the Annie Rost & Mike Stroup Band.
The TCHCC and village grounds will be open for touring. The Zapalac Saw Mill and Czech Newspapers Museum will be in operation. Concessions will also be available.
Admission to the event is free. Donations are welcome.
