THREE CALLS THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department had three calls on Thursday.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the department responded to the 1900 block of Northview Circle Drive for a fire alarm sounding.  Firefighters arrived to check the building, but nothing was found, so they reset the alarms and returned to service.

Approaching noon, units went out to the 300 block of Chappell Hill Street for a reported illegal burning in a backyard.  They made location and found the occupant burning leaves.  The department made note of the city ordinance to the occupant, who extinguished the fire with a water hose.

Around 2:15 p.m., BFD members were called out for a reported gas smell in the 400 block of Sandra Drive.  Nothing was found when they checked the area, so they returned to the station.
