FOUR CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department went out to four calls on Monday.
Shortly before 12:45 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 6800 block of Highway 36 North for a transportation incident with entrapment. The Brenham Fire Department and Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find a vehicle that struck an 18-wheeler. The driver of the vehicle was extricated from the driver’s side. Brenham firefighters helped Gay Hill units clean the roadway up before returning to service. The Gay Hill Department stayed on site.
Just before 1:30 p.m., the department was called to the 800 block of Mangrum Street for an alarm sounding. The alarm company was already on scene repairing the alarm when firefighters arrived.
Approaching 1:45 p.m., BFD members responded to the 100 block of Highway 290 West for a transportation incident. They found a single vehicle that struck a light pole, with no injuries or fluids leaking. Units then returned to the station.
Shortly past 1:45 p.m., units received a report of a transportation incident with entrapment in the 3200 block of Highway 290 West. They discovered a single vehicle had hit an 18-wheeler. Members of the Brenham Fire Department and Berlin Volunteer Fire Department removed both patients from the vehicle. The Brenham department cleaned the roadway off and returned to service while the Berlin department remained on location.
