THREE CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Tuesday.

Around 6:15 p.m., the department was called to the 1900 block of Highway 105 for a reported power line down across the roadway.  When units arrived, they found the wire was down on the driveway of a residence.  Crews from Bluebonnet Electric arrived to fix the wire.

Shortly before 7:15 p.m., firefighters went out to the 900 block of South Austin Street for a vehicle accident.  They found a small truck had hit a utility pole.  The department secured the scene and removed the battery cable off the truck, then stood by until the pole was safely secured and the vehicle was removed.

Just past 11 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a truck fire in the 600 block of Highway 290 West.  Upon arrival, they located a box trailer with smoke coming from the brake system, which was found to be malfunctioning.  Firefighters used a thermal camera and water to cool off the wheels of the trailer.
