BRENHAM MCJROTC HEADED BACK TO NATIONALS

  

The Brenham High School MCJROTC has earned its eighth consecutive trip to nationals.

Brenham’s armed and unarmed divisions received invitations to the National Drill Competition on April 10th in Fredericksburg, Virginia after finishing strong at the Regional Drill Meet on February 2nd at the Legends Event Center in Bryan.  The unarmed team clinched first place overall in the region, while the armed team secured second place.

Only eight teams per division qualified nationwide.  Brenham is expected to be one of only two teams to earn invitations in both the armed and unarmed divisions.

Captain Jeffrey Bayse said this achievement is “remarkable” and that “I’ve never witnessed such unity and determination as I did with this team.” 

Results from the Bryan Regional Drill Meet include:

  • Armed Overall - 2nd
  • Armed Regulation - 2nd
  • Armed Inspection - 2nd
  • Armed Color Guard - 1st
  • Best Armed Color Guard Commander - Samuel Holloway
  • Unarmed Overall - 1st
  • Unarmed Regulation - 1st
  • Best Unarmed Regulation Commander - Schoenstatt Rodriguez
  • Unarmed Inspections - 1st
  • Unarmed Exhibition - 1st
  • Unarmed Color Guard - 1st
  • Best Unarmed Color Guard Commander - Jackie Salinas

Additionally, the unarmed team achieved a perfect score of 4,000 points.
