JIMMY FORTUNE TO PERFORM AT THE BARNHILL CENTER

Jimmy Fortune (TBC)

The Grand Ole Opry and TV star, Jimmy Fortune, will bring his touring band to the Barnhill Center in Brenham on Friday, March 1st, at 7pm.

Fortune was one of the legendary Statler Brothers for 21 years. They were inducted into the CMA Hall of Fame and the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. They also won CMA’s Vocal Group of the Year Award.

After the Statler Brothers retired, Fortune was inducted into the Virginia Musical Hall of Fame as a solo artist, and he won the Dove Award for Album of the Year.

Fortune is a regular at the Grand Ole Opry and the TV series, “Country’s Family Reunion” and “Larry’s Country Diner.” He often appears as a guest on various TV shows.

Barnhill Center Producer Sharon Brass said, “Jimmy Fortune’s voice is one of those special instruments. His recognizable tenor has been part of many big Country hits in addition to his solo releases.”

He wrote the Statler Brothers’ big hits, "Elizabeth," "My Only Love," and "Too Much On My Heart." He also wrote the Top-10 hit "Forever" and co-wrote the Top-10 hit "More Than a Name On A Wall."

Fortune has performed in all of the U.S. States, in Canadian Provinces, and in front of audiences as large as 100,000 people. He was also privileged to perform at the White House on two occasions, once for President Ronald Reagan, and once for President George H. W. Bush.
