The festival received the award of Best Art Festival or Event in Small/Mid-Market.

The awards program celebrates top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State.  Sponsored by the publishers of Austin Monthly, San Antonio Magazine and Texas Music, tourism marketers are recognized for their efforts to bring tourism dollars to local destinations.  Statewide winners and winners in two population breakdowns were scored by a panel of judges that included travel industry professionals, travel journalists and a touring musician.

The Texas Arts and Music Festival is credited with the creation of larger-than-life murals that adorn many of downtown Brenham’s historic buildings and bring thousands of tourists throughout the year.  Every October, the free festival offers live music and invites renowned mural artists to create live art installations for the public to enjoy.  Proceeds from the festival are donated to the educational resources that support local arts.

Texas Arts and Music Festival Board Chair Mark Rosenbaum says the organization is honored to receive the 2024 Best Festival Award and thanks Visit Brenham for the nomination.  He also thanks the community, festival sponsors and volunteers, and the City of Brenham for their support.

City of Brenham Tourism and Marketing Director Jennifer Eckermann says, “While visitors can expect a colorful, fun-filled weekend full of art, music, shopping, and dining in beautiful Downtown Brenham at October’s Texas Arts and Music Festival, it’s the long-term impact it creates that sets it apart.”
