A disappointing fourth quarter for the Blinn College women's basketball team proved to be the difference in a Region XIV road tilt at Kilgore College on Wednesday in Kilgore, Texas.

Kilgore outscored the Buccaneers by 16 points in the final period of play to pull away for an 80-64 victory.

"That was a tough fourth quarter for us both offensively and defensively," Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "We just have to regroup for Saturday."

The matchup between region rivals was a neck-and-neck affair before the final 10 minutes of action. Blinn (20-9, 10-5 Region XIV) played to a 16-all tie with the Rangers in the first period before taking a 39-35 edge into halftime. The two squads then entered the fourth quarter tied at 52.

Freshman guard Chelsy Singleton scored a team-high 15 points for the Bucs, and freshman forward Tocarra Johnson and freshman guard Nala Richardson followed with 13 and 11, respectively. Freshman guard Wynter Jones added eight.

Blinn's regular season concludes with a region home bout against Jacksonville College at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kruse Center in Brenham. The Bucs will celebrate Sophomore Day prior to tip-off.
