TEXAS SELECT CUSTOM CUTLERY EVENT APRIL 6, 7 IN BELLVILLE
The largest gathering of custom knifemakers in Texas will once again be coming to Bellville.
The Texas Select Custom Cutlery Event, which is also the biggest organized assembly of competitors from the History Channel’s “Forged in Fire” show, will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 6th and 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Austin County Expo. The event is hosted by Phenix Knives.
Visitors will see live demonstrations from hundreds of bladesmiths from around the country and have the opportunity to get pictures and autographs. Special guests this year are “Forged in Fire” judges J. Neilson and David Baker.
Attendees can also take part in a chopping competition and bid on the chance to run a sword through a ballistic dummy.
Each year, Cowboy Szymanski of Phenix Knives donates a custom knife to the Bellville Engineering, Science and Technology Booster Club. Proceeds from a drawing for the knife will benefit the Booster Club’s scholarship program and summer science camp.
Tickets are $10 at the door, $5 for kids 10 and under. Parking is free.
