BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. TO HOST FISH FRY FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department is making final preparations for one of its biggest annual fundraisers tomorrow (Friday).

The department’s fish fry will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center, serving all-you-can-eat fried fish for $15 a ticket.  Plates will be sold for dine-in or to-go.

This year marks the return of the fish fry after it had to be cancelled last year due to scheduling conflicts at the Fireman’s Training Center.

Tickets can be purchased at the Brenham Fire Department and from any fire department member, as well as at Robert's Service Station, K&M Grocery and Dan’s Meat Market.  They will also be sold at the door.

  1. the fish were excellent but you would think someone from the fire dept like the fire chief would welcome people to the event like when RB was fire chief.
i also noticed there was no silent auction, i asked a FD member and he his reply was well we didn’t make any money off the auction last year, i said well you didn’t have a fish fry last year, then he responded well the year before we didn’t make money off the auction.

how do you not make money on a auction when most things are donated, even making $1 off the auction is better than nothing.

    1. Most of the volunteres have gone that had put on these fundraisers to help the dept. raise money for equipment above what the city could afford to budget, pushed out because the paid staff seem to think all the volunteers should be around the station all the time to do everything they do and have all the training that the paid staff get paid to have and are able to do sitting around the station all day watching training vdo’s between the few alarms.
