BLUEBONNET MASTER GARDENERS TO HOST KIDS KAMP

The Bluebonnet Master Gardeners Association and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service are getting ready for their seventh year of holding Kids Kamp.

Students in Washington, Austin, Colorado and Fayette counties can take part this summer in educational and recreational activities that will help them learn the importance of gardening and how to enjoy it.

Kids will experience hands-on plant propagation, be introduced to all kinds of herbs, plant and take home their own herb garden, and learn about some common garden visitors like purple martins, moles, gophers, armadillos, and snakes.

Camp sessions will be held throughout the month of June, running for three days each week from 8 a.m. to noon each day.  Dates include:

  • Washington County – June 4-6 (Washington Co. Expo Event Center in Brenham)
  • Colorado County – June 11-13 (Weimar Civic Center)
  •  Fayette County – June 18-20 (Fayette Co. Extension Ag. Building in La Grange)
  • Austin County – June 25-27 (Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Parish Hall in Industry)

The cost for the camp is $35 per child, and includes outdoor activity time and snacks.  Registration is open to children ages 10-13.  Space is limited.

Registration forms can be completed online at https://txmg.org/bluebonnet/kidskamp
