DRUG AND GUN ARREST MADE IN GRIMES COUNTY
A traffic stop in Grimes County led to the arrest of a female motorist on multiple charges.
On Monday evening just after 7:45pm, a Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling along Highway 90 in Anderson.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that appeared to be displaying fictious registration.
The driver and sole occupant was identified as Stephanie McWiggins, who Sheriff’s Office reports say was traveling from Louisiana to Giddings.
The Deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. McWiggins allegedly tried to hand marijuana to the Deputy to keep from getting the vehicle searched.
After making a probable cause search, the Deputy located over 11 grams of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, and a revolver.
McWiggins was arrested and transported to the Grimes County Jail.
She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Greater Than 4 Grams, but Less Than 200 Grams, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
