EARLY VOTING BEGINS MONDAY FOR BURTON SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION

Early voting opens for Burton ISD residents on Monday in the school district’s May 4th trustee election.

Three candidates are vying for two seats on the board: incumbent Brian Hinze, Ande “Arch” Bostain and Mike Clyde.  David Warner Sr. is not seeking re-election.

Hinze has served on the board since first being elected in May 2021.  Bostain is a former trustee, having been elected in May 2015 and serving until May 2018, being reappointed in December 2018, winning a special election in May 2019 and remaining on the board until November 2020.  Clyde is a retired school administrator who formerly served as principal at Burton High School and was involved in committee work during the 2021 school bond election.

Early voting will occur over seven days at the Washington County Courthouse Annex in downtown Brenham, from April 22-26 and April 29-30 with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Election Day is Saturday, May 4th.  Voting will be at the Burton Community Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Burton ISD election is the only contested one that will be on the May 4th ballot, as the City of Burton’s council election did not draw any challengers to the sitting councilmembers.  The City of Brenham, Brenham ISD and Blinn College will hold their respective council, school board and trustee elections in May 2025.
